Jerk History

Jerk dance evolved from a 2009 song by the New Boyz entitled "You're a Jerk". The dance starts by moving your legs in and out at the knees. Dancers step front to back, alternating directions in which they step. Jerk dance was influenced by the Boogaloo style. Hip Hop is the Jerker's music of choice. Boogaloo dancers hit certain rhythms and steps that blended well with Hip Hop music. Jerkers created new steps that blended the old style with the new.
